The U16 camogie team came away from Kilcock on Weds 27th April with a 6-8 to 2-8 win. This was a high quality game played in a great spirit. After a number of narrow defeats in this Division 1 league, everything clicked and brought the girls an excellent away win. A feature of the display was the exceptional team work and creative and unselfish interplay, all over the field. While all the girls distinguished themselves, it is worth mentioning the contributions of five girls who are almost at the end of their juvenile careers - Sarah Wallace, driving ball after ball out from the full back line; Áine Connell who gave an exhibition of man marking of a top class opponent; Ava Percy, with exceptional distribution of the ball from wing back; Michelle Dwyer, who produced a series of intelligent and incisive passes to add to her goal; and Niamh McGoldrick, who scored a lovely goal on the turn from the 21. This victory goes out to Sadb Mitchell, currently out with a recent injury.
Many thanks!, Best wishes , Seán
The Celbridge U16 Camogie team welcomed St Vincent's from Dublin to a sunny Celbridge on Valentine's Day. The only problem was it didn't stay sunny for long. Despite the conditions, the girls played out a tough, skilful game, losing out in the end by a single score.
