★Minor Ladies Football Championship Final (D4)★

Following a very tough Minor Ladies Football League campaign, Celbridge were left in a precarious situation of facing table toppers Suncroft away in the semi finals. A titanic battle ensued with Celbridge coming away with the spoils on a one point victory, setting up a final with Trinity Gaels.

The final was always going to be a significant challenge given the heavy defeat in the preliminary game, but the Celbridge players were focused and determined to set the record straight and show what they were capable of. It was a fantastic & pulsating game of football with end to end action throughout, with the lead changing hands many times.
From off the shoulder running, support play, tenacious tackling, tracking back and players fighting for every ball, it was truly worthy of a top class County Final. Although the scoreline of Trinity Gaels 5-15 : Celbridge 5-9 may indicate superiority from both sets of forwards, the truth was but for the fighting spirit & tenaciousness of the defensive units, it would have been an even higher scoreline.
Overall, an enthralling game between two great teams, played in a very sporting manner and with great support from both clubs, a superb tribute to the state of Ladies Football in Kildare.
Well done to Trinity Gaels, but we’re exceptionally proud of the Celbridge squad in giving it their all and being part of a truly memorable Minor County Final.
